My last night in Zurich, I had dinner at Zum Kropf. The interior has been named the most beautiful in all of Zürich. It was built in the Middle Ages in 1444. I ate in what was once a beer hall. Check out the gorgeous ceiling. I had cordon blue, which was fantastic. As in standard beer hall style—there was a boar’s head on the wall. Dessert was a crème caramel Swiss pudding—I love this shot of it with the ceiling reflecting in it.

Zum Kropf is really excellent. I had sublime liver dumpling soup, pork knuckle, potato salad and cinnamon and sugar dusted apple fritters. Everything was 5 star including my charming waitress Rosa and the rooms. My highest recommendation!

Nestled inbetween the trendiest of them all and just a doorway and a hanging sign, it would be easy to walk past, without even realizing that one of Zurich’s best kept secret’s is here by the name of zum Kropf!!The food is both well prepared as it is traditional and authentic and delicious. The service is excellent and the price is surprisingly well worth the money. Highly recommended!!

This is a great place to go to of you’re visiting Zurich. I really wasn’t expecting the food to be that great but we were really surprised. We ordered many different plated to share and it was all good tasting food. The only thing the majority of is didn’t like was the apple strudel.
