“Yakumanka is a Peruvian restaurant in the heart of Geneva serving authentic cuisine centred around fine seafood.

Our new restaurant is a traditional cevicheria, headed by Chef César Bellido, Gaston Acurio’s right-hand man, who worked with him at the celebrated Astrid y Gaston restaurant, and was involved in opening the Yakumanka restaurant in Barcelona in 2017.

An open kitchen with a long bar where our chefs prepare ceviches and tiraditos forms the heart of the restaurant. The bar offering a wide selection of pisco-based cocktails, has a warm and relaxed ambiance, with decor by designer Morendi Arcela, reminiscent of an authentic Peruvian cevicheria.”

A second choice that should have been the first. The ambience of the restaurant is really casual and layback. We opted to be seated at the verandah, which was great because of the sunny but cooling weather. The food was flavorful and scrumptious. My favourite was the salmon and the octopus. The dehydrated corn was a very addictive snack. Service was good and prompt.

The starters were good. The Classico ceviche was tasty. However, be prepared for very slow service. It took over 15 minutes just to get water and be handed a menu even though we were seated and the place was not busy.

Very good cuisine mix between Peruvian and Japanese. Everything was exceptional, the fish and calamar was delicious. Amazing dessert, we had “la lechera”. Some mix of dulce de leche with coconut milk.
