I just want to say that as someone who has lived in South Texas alongside the Mexican border (eats frequently in both countries) this place is IT. The food is absolutely amazing. Possibly the best in our whole Europe trip. And arguably some of the best tacos we’ve had – I know it sounds crazy since this is Switzerland and I’m from the heart of Mexico but it is what it is. Don’t take my word for it.. go try it.The atmosphere is great, good Mexican music playing, the waitresses were all very nice and Spanish speaking which was very nice! This is our second visit this trip and we are definitely coming once more before we head out. This is the place to be!!

The place is very cool, next to the entrance there are refrigerated shelves with a wide choice of Mexican/South-American beers that can be purchased and brought to the table or drank while waiting. The house specialties are the tacos (as suggested by the name). To fulfill your appetite, you should order 2-3 tacos per person. The ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are endowed with quite authentic Mexican flavours (generally in Switzerland also ethnic cuisine is “adapted” to the swiss taste”). The service is fast, and waiters are Spanish-speaking and very kind. The price is aligned to the Zurich standards. We recommend it for dinner with friends or for a nice dinner during the week!We suggest booking in advance!

Hands down the best burrito I’ve had in Europe. And trust me,I’m always on the hunt to find a good Mexican spot that give me a taste of the great eats I had in California.I love that they give you four options of hot sauces. The salsa verde is so flavorful.Go to order is always the surf and turf taco. The tacos are amazing, especially al pastor, but the burrito is the true star

Such a nice concept, took us back to Mexico! Staff was so nice and spoke all languages. And the food was excellent!Terrace was cosy and the Mexican Aguas choice were SO GOOD!Definitely recommend this place for lunch and dinner!

I’m from Southern California, and was surprised by how good these tacos were! I had resigned myself to not having good Mexican food in Europe, so this was a pleasant surprise. We had their fish, shrimp and Planted Pastor (plant based) tacos, and they were all great. They also make their own hot sauces which are actually hot! The habanero hot sauce was particularly delicious.Yes, you will pay Switzerland prices for these tacos, but they were well worth it.

Great Mexican flavors with a couple of satisfying (aka not only nachos + guacamole) options. The portions are quite big, the planted pastor plate I had was enough for me to split into two and take the other half home. They try to pack take away sustainably, using a paper bag and cardboard-like packaging. This place offers a selection of Mexican beer and happily serves tap water. The restroom is rather small but quite easy to access.

La Taqueria is a little taste of Mexico in Zurich. Maybe. I’m from Texas, so I only know Tex-Mex, and Tex-Mex is not Mexican, and I don’t really eat meat, so really I’m a terrible person to ask. But either way, I really enjoy La Taqueria because I’m a huge fan of salsas, and they have absolutely delicious salsas. I’m also a fan of margaritas, and they do those VERY WELL.This is their second location and I’ve been to both many many times. The one in Altstetten has more seating both inside and outside and looks cooler, but it’s farther away from me so Kreis 4 has been my general hangout. The options seem to be the same at both locations. They have a number of different interesting offers, along with several veggie options which makes me happy. They even offer a bug taco, but I can’t exactly remember which type. And recently they’ve been using planted meat for a taco and burrito- winning! If you want to find a relatively affordable meal, I suggest ordering a side of beans, or beans and rice with tortillas. The portions are big and you can make your own tacos and use all the salsa you want! However, the star of the show is their veggie burrito with smoked cheese. I don’t know how they smoke that cheese but man they do it right and it makes the entire burrito. That’s probably the best burrito I’ve ever had, ever! Also, their veggie platter has some great textures, tastes, and colours.Note that if you are an American coming to visit, be aware that you are in Switzerland, and whatever you order will have a price. That means that if you order a tortilla, they will charge you for each tortilla, or a side of chips. That’s the way it is. You just have to get used to it. Sometimes it’s painful, but I’m thankful that they made this restaurant so I’m not going to complain. Oh, and let’s not forget their margaritas. They have absolutely delicious margaritas! And their cookies! oh their cookies! yum yum yum
