The food looked and tasted really well, the staff very polite and the location was nice.However there were also a few points that degraded our experience: there was a long time(~50mins) until the main dishes were served, we didn’t receive any catalog with the drink prices and we were also charged 10chf for each bottle of tap water at the end. I dont know if that is common but it’s the first time I experience that even in Switzerland.

Very nicely located in the old town, cosy. Nice menu, delicious food with the exception of the Schnitzel ordered for a kid that was clearly off. No action taken by the management, claiming that the chef had already left…. unacceptable in a restaurant of this price range. Not sure if we will return

Great, friendly service and nice atmosphere. Food was very well prepared but uninspiring. Comparatively high prices but not quite clear what you’re getting for that. Surf and turf came with literally one small shrimp (looked more like half of one) as the only seafood component. Menu changes constantly so your mileage may vary, but it was sort of boring when I went. Wonderful wine selection but the markup even compared to their wine shop is almost comical.

Fabulous food, I had the menu and was “surprised” with the creative dishes 3 out of 5 dishes, (all dishes were excellent and well executed). Thats more creativity than in any gastronomic restaurant I visited in the past 5 years, including some top tables of Switzerland. Good going, you’re my go to place in Bern now. And the scenery when you eat outside is fantastic in the old town near the Aare.

My favourite restaurant I’ve visited.The preparation is at Michelin level but the dishes are more unpretentious. They often take a classic and bring it to the next level, somehow without losing the soul of the classic.The atmosphere is very relaxed for the level of the food, usually service becomes stiffer and more formal when dining at this level. Here, everyone receives a warm welcome by the hosts. Whether people are celebrating a birthday (with fireworks and singing), having a romantic dinner together, having a business dinner or are just around for their weekly visit, it’s always the perfect place to do it.And that’s even without mentioning the Aare terrace, where you’ll dine when the weather’s nice…

Where cosy meets fine dining! This place is a combination of tasty food, cosy atmosphere, attention to details and friendly staff. You can’t ask for more. It should be on your Bern list. remember to book a table with a few days in advance as it gets fully booked easily.
